PROOFREAD BOOKCLUB — QUARTER 01
Tsubaki Stationery Store
by Ito Ogawa
One book, one season, & a little more intention around the way we read.
Welcome to Proofread Bookclub, a quarterly reading experience by Week to Weekend × Sumika “Mika” Johnson of @mikameeks.library.
Each quarter, we’ll choose one thoughtful read and create an experience around it—reading slowly, noticing what stays with us, journaling when inspiration strikes, and making space to connect over a really good book.
For our inaugural quarter, we’re reading:
Tsubaki Stationery Store by Ito Ogawa
A warm, quiet story centered around letters, stationery, relationships, everyday rituals, and the things we sometimes need help finding the words to say.

THE QUARTER 01 GATHERING
Sunday, November 1, 2026
Puti’on Place
We’ll gather around the table with our books, fresh bread + hot tea while Mika guides us through a conversation about what we read—the moments we loved, what stayed with us, and the little things we noticed along the way.
There will also be time to write and send a postcard, dig into Paper Picnic’s paper buffet, work on your reading journal, and simply spend an afternoon with other people who read the same story.
You don’t need to prepare a literary analysis, the smartest take, and you definitely don’t need to read 50 books a year to belong here.
Just come ready to talk about a good book.
A NOTE ON OUR READING PROMPTS
Proofread prompts aren’t homework.
Our prompts are designed to help you notice, reflect + create as you read without overthinking the story.
Write a sentence, save a favorite line, make a collage, choose a color palette or tuck something into an envelope.
Use the prompts that speak to you and skip the ones that don’t.
There’s no right way to Proofread.
